Been There

Dear friends of Nick Parker, Michael Feiler and The Disband,

It is our pleasure to announce the non-release of Been There, an album of music created collaboratively between many bands and individuals, and ‘produced’ by The Disband.

Over the last 10 months a group of musicians from all over America and beyond (i.e. from England too!!), and brought together through the great ideas people at Rhinosplode have been giving their best to take Wilco’s Being There and cover tracks with some wildly different styles and approaches. The result of all our work can now be heard at our website, www.thedisband.com, where you can listen and even download it all FOR FREE.

We ask only two favo(u)rs of you. Since the album will not be released in the old fashioned sense of the word, we’d really appreciate your comments on the album to our email address (thedisband@sbcglobal.net). That way we know there are some people out there who are listening to our collective work.

Second, please forward this message to as many people as you can think of who might be interested in hearing our music. We play no gigs, sell no albums, and have not many friends to hear us(!), so we rely on word of mouth to spread the word.

Congratulations to all of you who have worked on this. Together we’ve made something truly unique.
